The Trib was smart enough to maintain its regular site and also start Chicago Now, basically a blogger site for locals.

Neither are for everybody, but it's an interesting approach rather than trying to force one version on another.

That is precisely right. It is Chicago Now and it does belong to the Chicago Tribune. I didn't say it was the sole Chicago Tribune site.
