Just found your blog after seeing your comment on Allyson Bird's post. Enjoy seeing the commentary on Michigan stuff -- I'm a Flint-area native (I used to write for Word Up!), and spent 14 years at the LSJ.
And speaking of quality human beings or lack thereof, Flint political consultant turned Detroit convicted felon and lightning rod Sam Riddle is already free from prison. Link below.
My how time flies! I miss Sam when he was a co-host of or regular guest on The Bob Leonard Show, seen Flint local cable access. He classed up the joint before declassing the real joint. I'm sure Sam would say, er, scream that he served his time, but it sure doesn't seem like he spent nearly enough time in prison for such as serious crime or crimes. Let's face it, he was involved in a big public corruption scandal. Yet is seems like our prison system does its very best to make sure these felons are home just as soon as conveniently possible. Oh where is Nancy Grace when we need her?
Inky, I saw that post earlier today and commented on it on her blog. Am waiting for her permission to link to it. I know I don't have to, but I prefer to ask permission.

This is the new FJ idea of news! They build comments by talking to each other and then they COUNT and consider the comments measurement of the importance of a story. And their idea of a story is about a movie company that sent a "scout" to look at a "possible" site. And these yahoos got themselves all girlie giddy over it.
Reporter 1 comment: Here's a history of movies filmed in Genesee County. The list includes Will Ferrell "Semi-Pro," "Alleged," and more! ... 2 Hours Ago · Reply
Reporter 2 comment This would be really cool to see. I'm also a huge Mark Wahlberg fan, so it'd be a pleasure to see - and to cover
Reporter 3 comment I want to be an extra. A Transformer extra. And I want to keep the costume.
Reporter 1 again If it does happen, I wonder how much will be shot at the plant and if any stars will be in the area for it. 3 Hours Ago
Reporter 2 again I chuckled at the idea of Shia Lebouf randomly showing up at Flintn Crepe Company, lol

Very thoughtful post on why this young journalist left the industry:

Thanks for checking in Alexis. You almost have to go back to the beginning of this blog to figure out where it was going.
Good luck in your career.
