Some 'new' media ideas
My friend and former colleague Mary Ann, who knows as much about online news stuff as anyone I know, is participating in a weekend conference in Detroit called "Journalism That Matters." Not my cup of tea, but at least some folks are trying to figure out a new journalism model, which puts them far, far ahead of the 'old' thinkers in the business. Thanks Jim. I appreciate this and your comment. Days later, I am still struck by how many smiles there were at a journalism conference. There were so many good ideas and people. I hope to write soon about a project to do a good Assignment Detroit and about a plan to create an investigative reporting center in Michigan. And then there's gaming. First, though, I need to get past a MS flareup that is messing up my sight, writing and walking.
