Somebody doesn't get it

How painful was it watching the heads of the Big Three respond to questions in a way that guaranteed that no help would be coming from the federal government.

"Would you take a $1 salary to get the buyout?," a Senator asked.

"I'm good where I'm at," was the arrogant answer.

And the private jets, oh the jets. All I can say is hopefully there are a few open public relations jobs at the Big Three for some departing newspaper reporters because whoever was in charge of the public relations for this episode, should be fired. Today.

Sheeeesh. How dumb are these guys? And no wonder the car companies are in the shape they are in.

Michael Moore really told it like it is on the Larry King show last night. The Roger and me man really let the brass at GM have it.
Michael should testify at the bailout hearing.

Yup, always good to have a millionaire from Traverse City weigh in ...

He oughta buy GM. Show us how to get it done.

Michael Moore didn't become a millionaire because he is stupid.I normally don't agree with him but he's right on with this one. The big three has had there priority's wrong for the last 10 years and I can't believe there arrogance.

You're right -- Michael Moore didn't become a millionaire because he's stupid: He became a millionaire because he is brilliant at exploiting other people's pain to make a buck. Hey, find out what you're good at and do it, I always say.

Yes, it was the PR blunder of the decade (OK, maybe century) for the CEOs to fly to D.C. on their corporate jets, although I doubt that the Citigroup leaders -- who got a $300 billion early Christmas present over the weekend -- are taking the subway to work. And there should be strings attached to an auto loan package, including those involving executive compensation and shared sacrifice (the jobs bank needs to go NOW).

But to call high-quality, Michigan-made GM cars and crossovers like the new Malibu and the crossovers "junk," Moore again proves that in his world, facts should never get in way of a good story. I hope the hard-working men and women of the UAW who make those products have once and for all shed any notion that Moore is on their side. He isn't.
