AJR: Detroit Free Press, Detroit News a year after the experiment
This is a look, even if not a very forthcoming one, on the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News a year after they cut publication days and started a new online product.
"Harshbarger would not say whether the papers are profitable. But, he says, the DMP is "confident that 2010 will be a key turnaround year for us," and the company expects to meet or even exceed its financial projections."
If they have to turnaround, then they're not profitable.
