Someone I know, Jim (a longtime colleague of yours at the Journal, about six feet tall, soft-spoken, wears glasses; you know him too and can probably guess whom I'm talking about) said Kwame's Dad used to charge a "gatekeeper" fee of $10,000. For that much money, you could have direct access to Kwame to pitch an idea you had to do business with Detroit.
The Kilpatrick family gives prostitutes a bad name. At least the young women on Eight Mile are very transparent about being for sale.
