When my late father-in-law visited the Truman library in Missouri, he penned a note in the guest book.
My father-in-law was a member of the Army's 75th Division. They had just slogged their way to Germany, but were to be reassigned to the Pacific to take on the stubborn Japanese.
The bomb effectively ended that plan.

ReplyDeleteExcept for poor graphics and a lack of a new headline for the second part of the column, I don't think they were meant to be connected.
